†‡† RITUALZ Feat Gvcci Hvcci / Ghetto Ass Witch (Blind Bindings Remix)Posted: June 15, 2012
Are you into witch house?
Oh the crosses, man.
It kinda funny, because the term witch house (supposedly) started out as a joke that was originally used to describe occult-based house music by Travis Egedy and his friends in 2009. Shortly after being mentioned to Pitchfork Media, blogs and other mainstream music press began to use the term. What do you think of it?
It generally features a fusion of techniques rooted in chopped and screwed hip hop – sluggish tempo with skipping, stop-timed beats. Common typographic elements in artist and track names include triangles, crosses, and other elements of unicode, which is seen by some as being part of a larger unified aesthetic within the scene as well as a method of keeping it underground and harder to search for on the Internet. I like that a lot.
